How to get to Heidi Alm Falkert
Heidi Alm Falkert is located at 1,700 – 2,300 m altitude in the Nockberge (Carinthia - Austria ) region between the two larger resorts Bad Kleinkirchheim (approx. 12 km) and Turracher Höhe.
Take the Landesstrasse from the valley (between Wiedweg and Ebene Reichenau at 1,000m altitude) up to the mountain village Falkertsee at 1,875m. Due to the location snow chains are recommended during the winter months, inclusive November and May.
By car:
From the north (Germany/Switzerland and Western Austria ) A 10 Tauernautobahn motorway to exit Spittal / Millstätter See (note: exit is on the left side of motorway ) - Seeboden - Döbriach - Radenthein - Bad Kleinkirchheim - Wiedweg - Patergassen – direction Ebene Reichenau – turn left to Falkertsee (marked by Heidi figure and flags) - go all the way up the mountain!
From the east we recommend the Südautobahn motorway or the route via Judenburg, Murau via Turracher Höhe.
Attention with navigation systems:
Please reconsider the route generated by your GPS device before heading off as some GPS systems may try to put you on roads crossing mountain passes such as Obertauern or Katschberg which is not recommended in winter.
Nockalm road too is frequently generated as arrival option, however, this is a toll regulated panoramic road and closed in winter!

By plane
Budget airlines such as Germanwings, Ryanair and Condor probably provide the most economic and comfortable arrival option from Cologne/Bonn, Berlin, Hamburg and London.
Austrian and Germanwings also offer a number of connecting flights via Vienna and Cologne/Bonn.
From Klagenfurt it takes about another hour to Falkert. The hotels offer guests bus transfers to/from the airport. Guests of holiday homes may consider the cheap rental car deals available.
Airports nearby: Ljubljana approx. 1.5 hrs, Salzburg 2 hours, Graz 2 hours.
